Corned Beef Brisket

Ingredients

For the rub:

  • 1/4 cup Grey Poupon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey

For the seasoning mix:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

Other ingredients to serve:

  • Cabbage
  • Onion
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the baking pan:

  • Line a baking pan with three pieces of foil.
  • The first piece should run lengthwise.
  • The second and third should cross over the middle.

Prepare the brisket:

  • Place the brisket fat-side up on the foil.
  • In a small bowl, mix the mustard and honey together.
  • In another small bowl, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, ground cloves, and black pepper.

Season the brisket:

  • Brush the brisket evenly with the honey-mustard mixture.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar seasoning mix over the top and pat it down gently.

Wrap and bake:

  • Fold the foil over the brisket, ensuring it is completely covered, creating a tent at the top.
  • Bake for 2 hours.

Rest and slice:

  • Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to a cutting board and slice thinly or into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  1. Serve hot with cabbage, onion, potatoes, and carrots. Enjoy!
