Corned Beef Brisket

Ingredients
For the rub:
- 1/4 cup Grey Poupon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
For the seasoning mix:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
Other ingredients to serve:
- Cabbage
- Onion
- Potatoes
- Carrots
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the baking pan:
- Line a baking pan with three pieces of foil.
- The first piece should run lengthwise.
- The second and third should cross over the middle.
Prepare the brisket:
- Place the brisket fat-side up on the foil.
- In a small bowl, mix the mustard and honey together.
- In another small bowl, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, ground cloves, and black pepper.
Season the brisket:
- Brush the brisket evenly with the honey-mustard mixture.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar seasoning mix over the top and pat it down gently.
Wrap and bake:
- Fold the foil over the brisket, ensuring it is completely covered, creating a tent at the top.
- Bake for 2 hours.
Rest and slice:
- Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- Transfer to a cutting board and slice thinly or into 1/2-inch thick slices.
- Serve hot with cabbage, onion, potatoes, and carrots. Enjoy!
